Those wings... I want them too.
АнглийскийSo, New Year. As this post is devoted to holidays and celebrations, it should be bright, with more pictures and less words. Well, here they are!
Sure, New Year is unthinkable without New Year fir-tree decoration. Unthinkable for everybody except https. https is too lazy
Fortunately, I have seen a photos with proposal of fine New Year baskets from my old cummer who is a florist now. The plan drawn up was simple: go for a nice cup of tea with a cake, stare at the Worker and Farmer statue visible from the window, buy one of these lovely little things, keep it at home till the New Year celebration at Vova's mother flat and then give it to her as a present. And not to forget making photos and posting them in Facebook in order to add charm to my FB chronicle! Done just as planned. Here are the photos:

I suppose, someone looking on the visiting card with inscription «Martha Cherman's Floristic workshop», the view of famous sculpture in the window and baskets with ballerinas and paradise birds would imagine a graceful lady with refined manners, elegant dress and hairstyle... Not the girl like this:

or this:

(Poor cake, it has been accidentally dropped to the floor after only a one third being eaten...)
This girl is unpredictable, bizarre, restless and bouncy, bringing snags from Karelia and liking cold seas more than the warm ones (I like them more too). I remember the time when her name was not Martha Cherman, but Anya Chernova. However, the moment when she decided to change her identity and in all seriousness went to the Passport Office I had missed out
After the cake she led me to a New Year handmade fair and offered to meet somewhere again few days later. And then exactly at the date of supposed meeting she wrote me that the destiny threw her to Zelenograd, from where she would go straight to Arkhangelsk, where she was going to celebrate the New Year... Yeah, I wasn't disappointed. I suspected that things would go this way
(And yes, I was again learning something and didn't wanted to distract myself...).
I saw a few handmade candlesticks accidentally and made photos of them for Martha, for the case they will serve her as inspiration:

As I've mentioned, change of the year number we celebrated with Vova's relatives, his mom and brother. Our close company looked like this:

And there was a New Year Tree
And beautifully packaged New Year gifts:

And here I am, showing my New Year presents:

(Funny, Vova and his brother would misinterpret the "Catan" title on the rules brochure as "Kotan", and I would rather as "Satan"
)
I liked the leather gloves, they were exactly that I needed, as my old ones are absolutely worn-out. But the table game... It's a strange situation, you know, when you are given the game you don't need, then the givers beg you to play in it with them as it requires at least three players and during the game for a long while stare at the complicated rules of the easiest variation... And later they asked me to play Game of Thrones version of Monopoly...
Okay, «Earth is a forgiveness school. And the best place to start is a family dinner table». (c) A person reading Earl Chesterfield's Letters on the 1st of January is on the other side of the spectrum and is not absolutely normal as well, I guess...
When we returned home, we no longer had a fir-tree composition. Fortunately, we had brought a substitution:

It has needles as well! It's all right! And I like hedgehogs, they are so amusing...
I suppose, the most fascinating portion of the photos should be the one with illuminations of Moscow center these days. There are a lot of reasons not to like my home-city, but the way its center looks on New Year holidays can soften all those disadvantages.
Vova went to shopping center "European" somewhere in a week before New Year, and the area around the mall was already shining:

And then the 2018th had come, we specially went to center for a walk and picture-making. I will not post trees and toys, there are a lot of other wonderful things. Magic installations and even a carousel:

Illuminated facades and special houses with gifts:

Decorated showcases:

And a beauty just hanging above:

A chunk of steam-punk from Grabli cafe in the Central Children's Store
:

By the way, do you think Halk got so angry because of the wreath put around his neck?

Now we are moving toward to the next holiday. For the Christmas Eve we'll go to my family, mom, brother, his wife and their two kids. We've got ready!

That's all for now. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!
